(FT. COLLINS, Colo., August 12, 2004) Mary Crabtree, microbiologist for the Center for Disease Control works in a lab with a potective suit to help prevent her getting infected while she works ith infectious material. The CDC is breaking ground on an $80 million new lab to study West Nile virus and potential bioterrorism agents. The current CDC lab was built in 1967. It is run-down and overcrowded. *** CDC officials will give a rare tour of the current lab after the groundbreaking. Look for signs that the current lab is in disrepair and is overcrowded.
