(GEORGETOWN, Co., SHOT 8/11/2004) About 35 members of the Denver Rescue Mission's "New Life" rehabiliatation program climbed to the more than 14,000 foot peak of Mount Bierstadt near Georgetown, Co. Wednesday. Antz Lopez of Denver makes his way up and over the last few hundred feet of sizable rock on his way to the summit Wednesday. Lopez has been in the program for one month and is at the Rescue Mission's Farm location in Wellington, Co. Lopez said it was the first time he has ever been hiking and even though he had wanted to give at a couple of times on the way up he was excited to make it to the top.The "New Life" program is a long term Christian based recovery program that gives the men involved the tools to become self-sufficient and overcome various addictions.
