(DENVER, CO. 5/5/04) The setting sun casts beautiful shadows on a wall at the Pueblo Del Arroya ruin at Chaco Canyon. That is my silhouette on the wall. Throughout the day I was having to shoot in really harsh desert light for the story I was working on, so it was a pleasure to take the last hour of sunlight to really get into the gorgeous quality of light that emerges as the sun sets in places like Chaco Canyon. The light changes the mood, the texture - the feeling of everything, and it was well worth the wait. I used a 17 mm lens on my Nikon digital D2H at aperature 7.1, and a 1/100th of a second shutter speed. (ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS PHOTO BY JUDY WALGREN)
