For the past three decades, Boulder's old-timers have gathered for coffee as the city sprouted around them. Two of them are over 100, most are in their 90s, and the center of them all was always Brownlee Guyer, Boulder's game warden for 32 years and a fixture of the community, who continued to sputter around in his old Model T in a town overtaken by Subarus and SUVs. Guyer died Feb. 7, at 94 years old. Here his friends talk about Guyer at the McDonalds where they gather at 1800 28th Street in Boulder, Wednesday morning Feb. 14, 2007 before heading over to his funeral service.
