THIS PHOTO IS EMBARGOED UNTIL FRIDAY, NOV. 10 -- The largest aquamarine specimen ever found in North America has been donated to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science by Bruce and Cody Oreck. This particular specimen, known as "Diane's Pocket," was found in 2004 near the summit of Mount Antero, in the Sawatch Range of central Colorado by prospector Steve Brancato. Aquamarine is a transparent, pale bluish-green variety of the mineral beryl. The specimen was photographed on November 8, 2006.
