Gary Pacheco, Jr. (l), 17, stands with his father Gary Pacheco, Sr. , on the Kennedy High School football practice field Wednesday, November 22, 2006. The father and son team complained to Denver Public Schools about a "tradition" dating back to 1965 at Kennedy High School where senior football players tackle younger, defenseless players in what they call Senior Hit Day. The Pacheco's say that this practice is hazing, it should be banned and the coaches at Kennedy who organized the hit day should be punished. The younger Pacheco is a right offensive tackle for Kennedy's varsity football team and told the Seniors that he would hit them back if they went after him or his younger brother during the annual ritual.
