(Golden, Colo., May 12, 2004) The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office tested 14 applicants for the Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) 0n Wednesday (5-12-04). The testing consisted of a physical assessment course, obstacle course, tactical firearms course and an oral interview. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department hopes to hire four new SWAT team members. The SWAT team responds to barricaded subjects, hostage situations, high-risk warrent service, riots, crowd control and executive protection.
