Those responsible for the act released most of the birds from the cages at the Wild B.I.R.D. center. They also stole money and equipment from the center. Fourteen of the birds being cared for at the center were retrieved. However, more than a dozen birds died from stress or injuries suffered as a result of the break-in. Police are investigating the crime, in which the center's cages were opened and 17 birds died. Money and equipment were stolen.
