Colorado Lieutenant Governor Jane E. Norton (center at podium) and national drug policy and prevention experts held a press conference Wednesday September 20, 2006 at the Signal Behavioral Health Network facilities to announce a grassroots campaign urging voters to vote no on Amendment 44. If passed, Amendment 44 will make marijuana legal in Colorado. At the press conference, opponents of Amendment 44 discussed statistics that reveal today s marijuana is much more powerful and much more addictive than it was a generation ago and talked about the potential negative economic and sociological impacts on Colorado if the amendment is passed.
