DLM01080 Farmer David Petrocco stands in a field of spinach near Gilcrest, Colo. Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006. Petrocco said he might have to plow the field over because he is unable to sell the crop due to the recent outbreak of E. coli linked to consumption of spinach tainted with the bacteria traced to a packaging plant in California. The Food and Drug Administration has issued warnings to the public not to eat raw spinach, even if it has been washed. As of Tuesday the outbreak had sickened 131 people in 21 states and killed one person according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
