Students texting at East High School in Denver on January 16, 2006. Jay Westcott (cq), 15, a sophmore, brings his cell phone and iPod to school. He's not supposed to use it during class, "i still do because I get bored in class. It makes the time go by faster." He's gotten in trouble for using it during just about every class. "Sometimes they just tell you to put it away. Sometimes with extreme teachers they put it away and your mom has to come in and talk to the teacher to get it back for you." He estimates that he uses it between 75 and 100 times a day. (ELLEN JASKOL/ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS) *** Jay Westcott (Cq)
