(DENVER, Colo., May 11, 2004) An empty air cargo cart sits in front of a WorldPort building at DIA, a cargo facility designed to support a huge expected increase in cargo traffic at the airport, has been a flop. One former official puts the blame squarely on former DIA manager Bruce Baumgartner, saying he delayed the development by a year and cost the project two major tenants. Lehman Brothers, which invested in the project, and JP Morgan are trying to resolve a default on their lease of land at DIA for the project, and a 60,000 sq. foot building that was supposed to house cargo companies has sat empty for two years.
