Kelly Calderon (cq) of Denver walks down an alley near Santa Fe and West 8th Avenue past the tagging that has gotten worse and worse right next to his home. He said the walls used to be covered with beautiful graffiti-themed murals but that more recently they have turned into a canvas for the local gang members to battle for territory. Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper is hosting a summit on graffiti Wednesday in hopes of finding a solution to a more than $1 million problem that seems to be on the rise lately. Calderon has lived next to the alley for about four years and said that lately it is the worst he's ever seen it. He said the City can come out and spray over it all but that it is back covered with tags within a few days. (MARC PISCOTTY/ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS) CQ Kelly Calderon
