Lindsey Sterling Krank (cq) Director of The Prarie Dog Coalition, wants to see more prairie dog barriers - like the one she is kneeling by in North Boulder Community Park Tuesday September 13, 2006 - constructed in Boulder Open Spaces , as a alternative to lethal control of the animals. A prarie dog has dug a hole beyond the fence , "because the barrier is unfinished," claims Sterling Krank. The three foot fence (three above and three below the ground) " can separate areas for prairie dogs and recreational assets so the two can co-exist," said Lindsey Sterling Krank. Because the prairie dogs have breached the barrier, they are slated to be destroyed by Boulder Parks. (PHOTO/ DENNIS SCHROEDER/ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS) **Lindsey Sterling Krank (cq)
