Eighty-three year old Frank Walter (cq, right) talks with Mitch Kaman (cq, left) of Frisco, an employee at Solitude Station on Copper Mountain. Walter stops at the lodge often for lunch and knows many of the employees at the ski resort by name. Walter skiied 161 days, missing only three days, at Copper Mountain Ski Resort last year. Walter, a retired Chrysler employee, has owned a home at Copper Mountain since it opened in 1972 and has a lifetime pass to the resort. He keeps track of his vertical footage every day and is averaging about 31,000 vertical feet a day this year. He said, "you plan to live forever but live every day like it's your last".
