(THORNTON, Colo., May 5, 2004) Four baby Great Horned Owls, stated by a passerby on a motorcycle who seemed authoritative and a second who pulled out a bird guide book from his glove box, only claiming to be an amatuer. sat patiently as humans passed by. Some noticed. Others did not. The owl youth are securely perched in the lone tree at the corner of 136th Avenue and Holly St. near the Horizon High School. It is alleged from a passerby that the mother is in the large tree across the street keeping a careful eye on the human intervention. (Photo by: STEVEN R. NICKERSON/ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS)
