Phnom Penh, Cambodia. November 1, 2003. The genocide museum, Tuol Sleng, the former Khmer Rouge S-21 Prison in Phnom Penh. It was a high school before the Khmer Rouge took it over and turned it into a prison to house, torture, and kill people. The Khmer Rouge turned this former classroom into a room of torture. A photograph on the wall at left shows a prisoner tied to the bed frame, with blood on the floor. (Photo by ELLEN JASKOL/ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS)
