(DENVER, CO., Shot June 28, 2004) In the wake of heavy rains Sunday, water flow on the South Platte River has nearly quadrupled flowing at a rate of nearly 900 cfs at Confluence Park just off of Downtown Denver. Jim Derrisaw of Fort Collins helps his four year old daughter Hailey place a bird feather she found washed up along the banks of the South Platte Monday after the heavy rains. He said he had the day off and was headed to the Children's Museum with his daughter when the two stopped to take a look at how fast the river is running right now. More rain is expected in the coming days. (MARC PISCOTTY/ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS)
