(DENVER, Colo., June 30, 2004) Tony Garcia is the artistic director and dominant force at El Centro Su Teatro, based in the former Elyria Elementary School. He writes plays, directs theaters and also hosts music, film and art events with a Hispanic focus. He is holding a sign, with the slogan, in spanish, that translates into "yes, we can!", a slogan attributed to Cesar Chavez, founder and president of the United Farm Workers Union. (As to the accents for Cesar Chavez's name, i searched tirelessly for an answer, and finally called a woman who watched him sign his own name without accents. But she also said the hispanic way is Cesar Chavez. Either way is correct) (photo by ELLEN JASKOL/ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS)
