Proponents to put the Colorado Marriage Amendment on the November ballot stack full and partially full boxes of petitions on the west steps of the Colorado State Capital for a press conference Monday Aug. 7, 2006. If it makes it on the ballot and is passed by voters the amendment would define marriage as the union between one man and one woman. Jim Pfaff, from left, with Focus on the Family, was still counting some last minute signatures as Jeff Small, Ruben Mendez and Jon Paul, all with Coloradans for Marriage, prepared to talk to reporters before delivering the boxes containing 132,200 signatures to the Secretary of State's office.
