"Hard work deserves fair pay," chants John Kefalas, 52, of Fort Collins as he marches from the west steps of the Colorado State Capital to the Secretary of States office in Denver, Colo. Thursday Aug. 3, 2006. About 100 demonstrators marched from the capital to the Secretary of State's office to deliver boxes carrying petitions for a November ballot measure to raise the state minimum wage from $5.15/hour to $6.85/hour. The group said it delivered 130,017 signatures Thursday, well over the 68,000 signatures needed to get the measure on the ballot.(DARIN MCGREGOR/ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS) **John Kefalas (cq)
