DENVER URBAN RENEWAL AUTHORITY 910 - 16th Street Informational Notice to All Families and Individuals Living In Model Cities Target Areas #1 and #2 This notice is to inform you that the dwelling unit in which you now live is located within the Model Cities Target Areas #1 and #2. Relocation activities in connection with this project will be handled by the Denver Urban Renewal Authority through the Relocation Department. If it will be necessary for you to move from your present home you will be notified well in advance as to just when you must vacate ^yo-tor—dwelling unit and you will be given ample time to find another satisfactory dwelling unit. Financial assistance v/ill be given you to help pay the cost of your move. The Denver Urban Renewal Authority under contract with the Model Cities Agency of .Denv^ is authorized to pay for the reasonable and necessary moving expenses oP* actual direct loss of property incurred -by you when.you move. Expenses may include packing, insuring, moving, storage for one year or less, and incidental costs of disconnecting and reconnecting household appliances. This payment can be made only to families and individuals that occupy the property on the date the federal government approved the,Loan and Grant Contract or that are in occupancy on the date the/property is condemned or acquired by Model Cities Agency of Denver and do not owe rent when the move is made. You may choose between taking a "fixed relocation payment" based upon the number of rooms occupied (bathrooms, hallways, and closets excluded) or having your actual moving expenses and any actual direct loss of property paid. In either event the maximum payment cannot exceed $200. Your claim for moving expenses and any actual direct loss of property must be submitted to the Denver Urban Renewal Authority within six (6) months after you move. A family or individual displaced on or after August 1, 1968, who meets HUD eligibility requirements for a relocation payment to cover moving expenses and actual direct loss of property, and who purchases and occupies a standard dwelling unit, may be eligible for a Replacement Housing Payment, in an amount not to exceed $5,000 if: (1) The family or individual was the owner-occupant of a single•- or two family dwelling for a period of not less than one year prior to the initiation of negotiations for the acquisition of the property under a HUD- assisted program. (2) The displaced owner-occupant purchases and occupies a standard replacement dwelling within one year following displacement. (3) The acquisition payment to the owner-occupant is less than the average price for suitable standard sales housing, adequate in size to meet his needs.
