Reproduction of a Stanely Loat [?] drawing of Lawson, Clear Creek County, Colorado, shows the town along Clear Creek with Colorado Central railroad tracks. Mines are above the town on the slopes of Red Elephant Hill. "This town is the entrepot of the great mines of Red Elephant Mountain and Silver Creek. The store of M. Howard and the two ore sampling works, with Alex. Lawson's possessions, form the chief attractions of the place."
