Image of unpaved Eureka Street, the Central City Opera House, the Teller House, and the First National Bank block in mid-summer. Horses with feed bags stand along the block wearing saddles and reins. Three people watching the horses stand next to a sign that reads: "City Hall Gilpin County Arts Assn." A sign that reads "No Parking in This Block After 12 Noon" is attached to a post between two of the horses. In July, 1951, seventy-five horsemen from nine states, who were selected for membership in this organization on the basis of their congeniality, participated in the most extended country event (three days) of this kind in the country.
