Men stand down in the pithouses excavations at Step House, a cliff dwelling in Mesa Verde National Park. The circular ditches appear to be lined with slabs of sandstone. Digging tools, including a pick ax and a shovel, lie on the ledge above where the men work. The dwelling lies under a large, rock overhang. A small pile of rocks stands at the bottom of the overhang.
