View includes the dilapidating clapboard residences of Jacob and Maija Kochevar, (Yugoslavian immigrants) Elk Avenue, Crested Butte, Gunnison County, Colorado. Their son Jacob, "Jakie" built the newer false front and decorated the second-story with handcut imbrication made with homemade tools. The wood shingles are in alternating rows of saw tooth or "dog teeth" pointed and scalloped shapes. The backeted cornice has an inverted large scallop with "1913" date inside. Both of the weathered wood false fronts have broken windows and sagging chain link fence rails. A "For Sale" sign shows on the older residence; corrugated metal roof covers the wood shingles and parts of the balustrade are broken or missing.
