Unpaved Main Street is bordered by commercial, clapboard storefronts with false fronts and cornices in Nevadaville, Colorado (also known as Bald Mountain, Nevada, and Nevada City), a small town located in Gilpin County. The "Bald Mt. Post Office" is in the center of the block. A one-story masonry building is next to a two story, wood-frame building at the end of the street. Hitching posts are in front of the buildings, and boards, derbis, and trash litter the ground. The hills that surround the town are in the background.
