View of conventioneers in Trinidad, Colorado, gathered around a gaming table play the "chuck-a-luck" game; a cylindrical chrome cage with large dice is mounted on a stand and rotated by a crank. Cigar boxes containing coins on the table read: "Mild M & O" and "Van Dyck Five Cent Size". Uniformed conventioneers and young women line the table.

Rubber stamp on verso of typed label reads: Sep 1, 1939 F. H. F.; Title and date hand-written on back of photoprint.; Typed label with photoprint reads: Trinidad always is a "wide open town" and during the reunion gambling was in evidence from one end of the town to another. Elaborate casinos were operated by the American Legion and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, with signs posted, "All Proceeds Go to Charity." Photo shows a scene in the BPOE casino, with a chuck-a-luck dice game getting the undivided attention of a group of reunion and convention visitors including two men from the United States Marine band. His face hidden behind the man operating the chuck-a-luck game is Irvin B. "Red" Rogers, with cigar in hand- Rogers is credited with having "brought the south to the west" because of his activities on behalf of veterans groups.; R7100018054
