The meeting was called to order by President Dan Paulien at 7:30 p.m.
Board members present were Gordon Appell, Lynne Arena, Dene Clark,
Ray Fisher, Michael Henry, Jim Hill* Sarah Hite, Marcia Hughes,
Bernie Jones, Steve Lang, Gerri Lane, Dorothy McLwan, Paul Mahoney,
Rosie Mahoney, Bill Pace, Eric Peterson, Luella Sanders, Michael
Sanders, Janet Seymour, Joyce Thorn, Charles Trainer.  Others in
attendance were Margaret James, Harry Phillips, Mary Krane, Ed
Tilton, Larry Ramsdell, Jim Graves, Rose Kapolczynski, Tom Gleason,
Jock McNulty, Lou Bluestein, Deborah Carr, Kirsten Hartman.  The
agenda was approved as mailed.  Janet Seymour moved that the minutes
of the August 24 meeting be approved.  The motion was seconded and
passed.
Dan announced that Micki Barnes and Mary Snyder had resigned from
the Board.  Mike Henry moved that the following be asked to join
the CHUN Board of Delegates:

Deborah Carr 1638 High
J.J. Albj 1740 Gaylord
The motion was seconded and passed.
Sarah Hited moved that CHUN Board members on the People's Fair
allocation task force be Jim Hill, John Ozello, Mike Henry, Dan
Paulien, and Gordon Appell.  The motion was seconded and passed.
Treasurer's Report.  Dene Clark circulated a CHUN Financial Statement
showing a balance in the CHUN checking account 8-11-78 of $1,098.94.
Receipts were $10 and expenditures $534-89, leaving a balance 9-27-78
of $574.05.  The Financial Summary from 6-1-78 to 9-27-78 showed
accumulated CHUN expenses of $1,032.38 and income of $1,606.43.
Gordon Appell moved we transfer the agreed upon IO70 of the People's
Fair gross profits to CHUN's account.  The motion was seconded and
passed.  This amount is roughly &1000.
Crime Education Committee.  Ray Fisher said that six new committee
members went on a police ride this summer which will be reported in
the newsletter.  He said that police get little positive feedback
from citizens.  He suggested we do say "thank you" when it is appropriate and take a police ride some time.  When making a call to
police, always give your name and telephone number.  He said that
the policeman's frustration level is high.  It seems that juveniles
arrested are immediately back on the street and there is resentment
of the large volume of paper work.  Cn the whole Ray believes the
police are competent and concerned.
Social Services Committee.  Bernie Jones said that the ordinance
limiting an area's density of half-way houses, group homes, etc.
passed Monday's City Council meeting unanimously.  We should anticipate no more such facilities in Capitol Hill.
Transportation Committee.  Mike Henry mentioned the October 18th
public hearings on the new R.T.D. route changes.  Joyce Thorn moved
that GHUlv representatives speak at the hearing strongly requesting
that Capitol Hill neighborhoods not being properly served by the new
grid system have their routes reevaluated.  The motion was seconded
