Two lonely and troubled msn
walked <#©wn the dusty road to
Emmaus, and they were troubled j
because they had lost their Master
and friend. They were ashamed
because they had deserted their
friend when He needed them. Now
he was no longer with them. They
had marveled as He preached the
Good News, and healed the sick
and broken-hearted. Now their
hearts were broken.
Suddenly they felt a Presence
with them. Their hearts were
mended and once again they felt
the joy that the Master brings.
Yet they did not recognize their
Friend. How could it be; was He
not crucified, dead and buried?
They stopped for the evening meal,
and as this stranger "Took bread
and blessed it and broke it and
gave it to them, "their eyes were
opened and they recognized Him.
"Did not our hearts burn within
us while He talked to us on the
road?"

says that we have the Christ
whom men could not take away
from us. God sent Him, how could
men take Him away. He says, "Lo,
I am with you always, even unto
the end of the world." And we believe Him, for God so loved the
world that he gave his only begotten Son that Whosoever be-
lieveth in Him shall not perish
but have life everlasting.
Isn't our walk through life
something like the road to Emmaus? We get discouraged, our
hearts are troubled and we reach
out for some power that will lift

us up when we fall. Remember
and be glad that Christ walks with
us even as He walked with the two
disciples. We will not recognize
Him at first, even as they didn't.
Yet, if we pause with Him and let
Him take bread, bless, and break
it for us, then we shall know and
believe. Christ is risen indeed!!!!!
