THE URBAN DWELLED — » a monthly publication ot Capitol Hil l United Neighborhoods General Membership Meeting The roots of CHUN are in its Neighborhood Assemblies. Leadership and ideas come from the local groups working to solve ; problems close to their homes. September's General Meeting will take a look at this system. It has the potential to be a model of participatory democracy. Is it working? How can we make it work better? The meeting will focus on zoning issues particularly. Every neighborhood in Capitol Hill is being faced with decisions about zoning changes. CHUN is working to coordinate the efforts of the Neighborhood Assemblies with local neighbors who have not yet joined CHUN or its Zoning and Land Use Committee. How can we do this more effectively? CHUN and the Neighborhood Assemblies are here to give your views a voice. We1re always striving to do that. How are we doing? If you have thoughts on how we can represent you better, or if you want to explore how this system can give you a role in shaping the future of Capitol Hill, please join us. The meeting will be held in the Meeting Hall of the Capitol Hill Community Center, 1290 Williams, on Thursday, September 17 at 7:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
