kJu uu A PUBLICATION BY CAPITOL HILL UNITED NEIGHBORHOODS INC. (may, June) 3 JULY/ AUG.75 etc. For the first time in a while, CHUN has a staff, a situation brought about by the increasing realization on the part of colleges and universities that field experiences afford students invaluable learning opportunities. Starting this summer, Randy Conrad will be working with us; in September, she will be joined by Greg Ruke. Randy is an undergraduate student working on a public management degree in Metro State University Year for ACTION program, while Greg is a second year graduate student in the University of Denver's Graduate School of Social Work. As of this writing, Randy is going through a process of familiarizing herself with CHUN and the neighborhood, under the direction of 2nd Vice-President, Bill Pace. First Vice-President, Rhonda Knop will work with Bill in supervising Randy. Greg, while employed full-time doing construction this summer, is reading up on the neighborhood and meeting some CHUN people. As a social work student, his emphasis will be on community organization, and thus far his background includes organizing, counseling, youth work, and police training on family crisis intervention. He has a BA in Sociology and Social Work from Washington State University. As an Intern, Greg will be supervised by Bernie Jones, President of CHUN. Once exact job descriptions have been worked out, each Intern will be putting in around twenty hours per week on CHUN activities. e A special thanks to John Hand for the leadership he provided for this year's very successful People's Fair.
