MINUTES OF CHUN MEETING, SEPTEMBER 24, 1975
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT! Mary Snyder, Jim James, Jim Krendl, Chris Blair, Bill Pace,
Paul Huffman, Dene Clark, Mike and Luella Sanders, Carolyn Reznik, David Vila,
Bernie Jones, Dwight Filley, Rhonda Knop, Chuck Nefzger, John Marinaee, John

GLOBEVILLE. Bernie reported that he had planned to speak on behalf of CHUM in
defense of the Globeville neighborhood at a Planning Office hearing* Some op*
position was expressed at taking such a stance without further information, and
some felt it was not our place to become involved in other neighborhoods. A
motion was finally passed to the effect that we should keep open the possibility
of takingsuch a stance, contingent on obtaining more information about the issue
and contingent on discussing the matter with Globeville representatives.
INFORMATIONAL ITEMS
Retreat! Bernie reported that the 2nd annual retreat is planned for the
weekend of November 1*2 at Geneva Glen Outpost Cabin near Morrison, and
shared information about making reservations for the retreat* John Marinace passed out flyers about it.
Intern! Bernie reported that Randy Conrad has terminated her internship with
CHUN* Greg Tuke, our intern from DU School of Social Work, has picked up the
project Randy had started, namely, conducting a telephone poll of all CHUN
members. He passed around a sign-up list for people who wished to help him
do the calling sometime next month*

Cheeseman Park Barriers! CHUN has reiterated its stance in opposition to the
proposed removal of the barriers on the west lane of Cheeseman Park, Bernie
reported* The Board moved to authorize the president and the Land Use and
Zoning Committee to discuss the matter with Mr* Joe Ciancio, head of the city's
Parks and Rec* Dept, and suggest a public hearing be held if necessary*
REDLINING SPEAKER. Ms. Dorothea Armstrong of the East Side Action Movement re*
quested, via John Ozello, that CHUN contribute $25* to help the ESAM bring a
nationally-renowned speaker on redlining to town on October 11. The Board unanimously voted to approve the allocation*
STREET LIGHTS* Bernie told the group that he has been getting phone calls once
again about the newly-installed anti-crime street lights in Capitol Hill, and
asked if the Board wished to take any action on the matter. After short dis
