              CAPITOL HILL UNITED NEIGHBORHOODS
Minutes of Board Meeting - May 29, 1975
Bernie announced that an information table will be set-up for
each board meeting for the purpose of displaying general items
of interest, announcements, memos, etc.
The agenda for the forth coming meeting will be outlined with the
notice of the meeting.
Conferences:
Media Awareness - Denver Video Center, June 21 9'30 - 4:00, $3/head
HUD Conference on Urban Renewal and Neighborhood Preservation, June
23 & 24, $20. / person.
It was moved, seconded, and passed that CHUN will pay $20.00 for
one board members attendance at the HUB conference.
Reports:
The second annual Capitol Hill Retreat was postponed due to a lack
of interest.  The steering committee will reconsider the idea for
next fall.
Bernie will send Jofn Hand a letter of thanks for his work on "the
fair.  He will also begin planning for next year.  It was requested
that a complete financial statement of the fair be submitted to the
board.
Bill Pace has a list of community gardens that are participating
in the gardens insurance program.  Downtown locations and nursing
homes will be included in the project.  The Mayor has offered tilling
and plowing provisions through the City.
Bill Pace announced that four locations were approved for the
community schools.  Capitol Hill did not get one. Morey Jr. High
is being considered as a possibility with a un-paid assistant.  Bill
will compose a letter to the Denver Public Schools,with copies to
School Board Members, expressing CHUN's concern for a community
center.
It was announced that commercial parking lots and garages are now
restricted to R-3 zones. Jim James announced that Council
approved height limitations and view ordinances from the Museum of
Natural History. Height ordinances for downtown business district
was defeated. The planning board has deleted the quasi-public use
related to the proposed Children's Hospital site. However, it was
noted that the State can do whatever it sees fit.
