capitol hill united neighborhoods inc CHUN Board of Delegates Meeting Capitol Hill Community Center, 1290 Williams January 22, 1981 Minutes The meeting was called to order by President Marcia Hughes at 7:30 pm. Board members present were Jo Campbell, Christiana Citron- Moore, Dene Clark, Pam Crouch, Lillian Davidson, Elisabeth Dobrovolny, Robert Duncan, Beth Shugart-Duncan, Patsy Frannea, John Hitch, Sarah Hite, Bernie Jones, Tobi Kanter, Sally Kurtzman, Jock McNulty, Jan Moore-Kirkland, Alex Oliszewski, Dan Paulien, Larry Ramsdell, Elizabeth Singer, Joyce Thorn, Sandy Weston, Charles Sterratt. Others attending were Meg Nagel, Barb Martens, Steve Valicevic, Rick Foster, Nancy Hauswald, Nancy Rettig, Clarence Miller. The December 11 minutes were approved as mailed. Treasurer's Report. Jock McNulty circulated the November 13 and January 22 financial statements. Balence in the CHUN checking account 11/13/80 was $320.49. Receipts were $86.34 in memberships and $6000.00 transfer from savings. Expenditures totaled $3307-51 $ leaving a balance in the checking account 1/22/81 of $3099*32, and a balence in the savings account (excluding reserved People's Fair funds) of $1944.45, leaving Total Cash-on-Hand of $5043-77- Communications. Robert Duncan encouraged members to submit articles for the newsletter. The deadline is the last Monady of every month. Membership. Jan Moore-Kirkland announced that the renewal letter should soon be mailed. The phone-a-thon is scheduled for February 10 and we were all encouraged to help, meeting at Mountain Bell at 6:30 pm. Neighborhood Assemblies should be scheduled between February 23 and March 6 to elect delegates to the Board. General Meetings. Sandy Weston asked to resign from her position as Vice President for General Meetings because of her limited time. She will remain a Neighborhood Delegate. She was given accolades for her work. Marcia asked for a volunteer for this position. Joyce Thorn will assist with plans for the April Annual Meeting. President's Report. Marcia announced the resignation of Liz Crawford as a Neighborhood 3 Delegate, Tobi Kanter (as she is moving out of the CHUN area) and Larry Ericson. Sarah Hite moved that Liz Crawford be elected Delegate-at-Large, which motion was seconded and passed. A Nominating Committee will be appointed at the February Board meeting to recommend Delegates-at-Large to be elected at April's Annual Meeting. Staff Report. Meg Nagel is working on the 501(c)(3) tax exempt arm for CHUN and will send out a document reviewing our options. She invites comments before the final recommendation is developed which will be presented at our next board meeting. She has been working with Steve Valicevic, our new VISTA, and sent out a letter regarding goals and post office box 18S75 office location capitol hill station 1200 williams street denver Colorado soeis 3Q3-3BB-S716
