circulate a petition, should call Marcia Cornejo at 320-5795. The board

Jud Allen and Bob Scales of Barton-Aschman Consultants passed out three
hand outs and explained the four alternatives for exclusive bus lanes for the
East Colfax area. The recommended alternative is to have two moving traffic
lanes each way on Colfax, plus 2 exclusive bus lanes from Colorado Blvd., to
Park Avenue. The south side of Colfax would have recessed parking and the
north side would have parking only where needed. Some sidewalk space would
be lost. Trees would be planted; new lights installed. On 16th Avenue from
Park to Broadway there would be one lane of traffic going each way with
buses and cars. Bike lanes would go both ways. Trees and lights would be
installed on 16th also. An estimated 70 buses would use this corridor at
peak hours. Interested persons can attend the "Bus Drive" starting at
Barton-Aschman offices (3500 E. Colfax) at 5:30 on June 6th. Box Suppers and
discussion will follow the ride. Call Mike Henry(832-5777) to order your box
supper. Also an open forum will be held June 9th, 7:00, at East High School
to discuss the four alternatives.
Gordon Aoyagi of RTD discussed the RTD Route Restructuring Proposal for our
area. He handed out copies of the proposal plus maps. Those seeking more
information should call 759-1000, or visit RTD at 1325 S. Colorado Blvd., or
attend the open meetings as follows: June 2, 7:30, Gove Jr. High School; June
