ChUN Board of Delegates Meeting Warren United Methodist Church October 11, 1979 The meeting was called to order by President Dan Paulien at 7:30 p.m. Board members present were Lynn Adams, Gordon Appell, Jo Campbell, Linda Breed, Pauline Bryans, Mel Carter, bene Clark, Patsy Frannea, Ken Freed, Bob Fuller, Kike Henry, Jim & Sharon Hill, John Hitch, Sarah Hite, Ted Hoyer, Karcia Hughes, Bill Johnson, Bernie Jones, Sally Kurtz- man, Paul Kahoney, Patricia Kielnick, Janet Moore-Kirkland, Norma Oldham, Dan Paulien. Others attending were Cathy Vaughn, Sandy Weston, Alex 01is»ewski, Beth Travis, Jock McNulty, Morrie Berkowitz, iiobert Bicek, Warren Bailey, Cathy Donohue. The minutes of the August 30 meeting were approved as circulated. Board Vacancies. Mike Henry moved that Sandy Weston from Area 9 and Beth Travis from Area 7 be elected to the Board and that Warren Bailey be th^ CHUN Board representative from Civic Center Bast. The motion was seconded and passed. Sarah Hite moved that Mike Henry be CHUNfs delegate to Civic Center East. The motion was seconded and carried. House Tour. Sharon Hill announced proceeds to date of &3130.09, expenses of #552, leaving a profit of approximately ^2500 for the September 16 CHUN House Tour. Janet Koore-Kirkland moved that an interim committee discuss the feasibility of having another house tour and/or another fund raiser. The motion was seconded and carried. Paul Kahoney, Patsy Frarmea, Sally Kurtzman, Jock McNulty, Linda Breed, Dan Paulien, Norma Oldham, Mike Henry, Sandy Weston, Bernie Jones, Morrie Berkowitz, Jim and Sharon Hill will serve on this committee. The Board gave a vote of thanks to Sharon and her committee for an outstanding job. It was proposed that Together Books be given a business membership to CHUN for their assis -,* tance with the House Tour. This motion was seconded and passed. Greater Park Hill and Moore School House Tours. Cathy Vaughn from GPHC announced its tour October 14 and Sarah Hite from Moore School announced its tour October 25* We were encouraged to attend each. CHUN Tax Preparation. Cynthia Ford organized CHUN's tax records from 1975-78 for a fee of $135. Chan, Gray & Co. has proposed preparing federal tax form 990 for 1975-78 for $200. Janet Moore-Kirkland moved we accept this proposal and give Chan a personal CHUN membership. The motion was seconded and passed. Mike Henry will register CHUN for a sales tax license. People's Fair Allocation Committee. Norma Oldham was authorized to spend up to $350 for an electric typewriter for the People's Fair which may also be used by CHUN. Grant applications for People's Fair profits were evaluated by this Committee, and preference was given to organizations in Capitol Hill who were non-profit, community service oriented, proposed innovative programs. Mike Henry moved the following grants be approved as recommended by the Allocation Committee, which motion was seconded and passed: Mountain Bicycles - bike racks for the Community Center $739 Health Support Council for Capitol Hill Seniors, Inc. - Sta-Well News 400 Steve Aldrich & Kathi DeFrancis - Magic & Music - five performances in Capitol Hill 500 Capitol Hill Community Center - movie screen 100
