Morey Welcomes 170 7Bs
January 28th Mcrey welcomed one-
hundred and seventy 7B's. The majority of pupils are from Moore, Emerson,
Ebert, Stevens, and Wyrnan. Mrs.
Dolezal is the 7B sponsor.
On February 8th a social hour was
given for the 7B's. Wednesday, February 13th, a class meeting was held.
After school a tea was given for the
7B's, their parents, and the faculty
Many talented people are in the 7B
class. Shirley Buchanan, Elizabeth
Morris. Katherine Looms, and Kuth
Shaffran play the piano^ .Melyin CJar.k
iiustead Winkler, Billy ' Augustiri,
and Betty Jane Norris play the violin.
The guitar is played, by Betty Monroe
and Elizabeth Morris. And guess what?
Judith Thackwell is a relative of Franklin Roosevelt.
When interviewing the 7B's on what
they thought of Morey many different
replies were given. Bruce Rockwell,brother of Norman Rockwell, replied, " I
can't get use to the idea of posts but
Morey is keen," George Mullen said he
got lost several times but knows where
his rooms are now. William Young said
he is always forgetting to go around the
posts. I elen Egan, sister of Gladys Egan
said, "When I can't find my rooms I ask
some one who is older and that way I
get along all right. "J osephine Palmer,
sister of Alice Palmer, replied. "I think
Morey is a mad scramble for life."
You have heard what the 7B's think of
Morey now hear what the officers think
of the 7B's. Norman Rockwell replied,
"I think the 7B's are a fine group."
Gail Nelson said, "The 7B's have acted
very well in the halls." Jim Nelson who
by the way is a senior reporter said, "The
7B's are a large group but a fine class."
Shirley Walters said, "The officers have
tried to help the 7B's all they can."
Georgme lies replied, "v,Te expect a
lot from the 7B group."

Poetry Contest in
March
More About Morey is sponsoring its
annual poetry contest. The contest begins March 4 and ends March 22. Any
poems written within the past year
may be submitted. Be sure to put your
name and grade on the poem you submit. If a 9A pupil wrote the poem he ;
submits during his 9B term it must be
signed 9B and shall be judged with the
poems of that grade. All poems should
be turned into Room 227.
Your poem may not win but let's
everybody try. Remember, March 4 to 22
9A Officers
The smoke has cleared, the suspense
has ended, andmanv 9A's are breath
ing easier for,the class election is over.
The following officers have been
elected:
President - - - - Villiar Soarr
Vice President - Wadena Weeks
Secretary - - Tommy Richards
Ass't Secretary - Elizabeth Turner
Historian - - Robert Lee
Ass't Historian-Mary Lou Stanfield
The President, Villiar Sparr, is also captain of the 9A basketball team. Robert
Lee, the Historian, is also an outstanding player on the team. Tommy Richards last term was captain of the safety
squad. Mary Lou Stanfield has held
many class offices and is an excellent
scholar, as is Wadena Weeks. Msry
Lou had the lead role in the operetta.
This is Elizabeth Turner's first term in
an official capacity.
