Use "Five Joints** Area, tlm Negro business section of Denver, Is without
one hotel that has first class accomodations, especially tomu v&th private
or connecting baths.
1 do not advocate segregated hotels but e&perience has taught me that
colored people prefer this area* If th accomodations ore available*
£iany sole$aen and visitors find living doumtotssi more comfortable, but
since their Jobs and pieces of entcrtalnoertt are In this area, they also
find it quite inconvenient.
I believe tills project to bo sound and profitable because this amount
of Monoy would give the investors a clear title - first mortgage with nothing
else outstanding.
This Is not an idea which was hatched overnight, but one to which
much thouQht and planning has gone Into. 1 have Inquired end received vast
information concerning this type of project from Kansas City, Missouri;
Los Angeles, California; Chicago, Illinois; and Dallas, Texas. Although
Bcmvx lias made rapid progress in recent years, it is still not adequately
equipped to accomodate the growing needs of the Kooro population and
tourists in permanent and transient housing.
